At the time of the competition in 2021, the building was occupied by offices and a bank branch. The bank, which occupies the eastern half of the ground floor and the basement, is not affected by the project. The regeneration of this majestic Haussmann-style building, constructed in 1912, aims to achieve an overall upgrade, a sustainable improvement in user comfort and architectural features, bringing the building into compliance with local planning regulations and accessibility standards, and enhancing the thermal performance of the entire complex. Creating a double-height space on the ground floor; enhancing the building’s main courtyard by optimising technical installations; enlarging the dormer windows and creating roof balconies; opening up the façade onto the side courtyards… We have harnessed every opportunity to maximise natural light and views.
